ZZYXCIONSXZZZ to be REMYXED
So here is a video project from back in 2002; produced in collaboration with musician Nathan Youngblood. ZZYXCIONSXZZZ is a great example of my pre-SFAI work and shows my early desire to experiment in creating visual interpretations and imagery to music, which I have been re-exploring greatly now post-SFAI. ZZYXCIONSXZZZ was shown in several film festivals in '02 and '03 and was a finalist at the US Super 8 Film and Video Festival at Rutgers University, NJ. It was also picked up by The Experimental Channel for the Eyeplugs DVD compilation in 2006, and was screened with that collection at theaters and galleries in San Francisco. The audio is an original track by Youngblood and a great glimpse at his early compositions as well; Nathan worked with me at the end of last year on the 2008 Mary Xmas RMX. Years of great collaboration with many to come! So stay tuned in the weeks ahead for a re envisioning of ZZYXCIONSXZZZ which will be for the seven year anniversary of the original video!
2009 Update
I wanted to post something to let everyone know that my new website is up an running, GoodTripArt.com (formally nyqgoodtrip.com). I am still reworking a few things and will be adding some new stuff, but I am open to suggestions of what people would like to see. I am thinking of not hosting much video on the site itself, but embedding from Kyte, Youtube, myspace etc with a few things, but most of my older videos will not be going back up, just still images and a description. Those of you who were lucky enough to get one of my GoodTrip Video Collection DVD sets have the only published compilation. I don't foresee making more then the 25 copies of it, but instead will be self-publishing a run of 25 limited edition DVD's for each single video. These will be sold on the GoodTripArt.com website, will be hand-signed and numbered. They will feature new video commentary from me about each piece, and original cover art for the limited release.
In the mean time go check out GoodTripArt.com, and put this new banner I made on your page to help get some traffic into the site, I would appreciate it greatly.
The highly anticipated video for p fang is finished and online for your viewing pleaseure. I am very happy about the way it turned out, and getting to work with this track and theme has been alot of fun. SO much packed in a tite package, very trippy stuff even if you have not seen the film "Dagon" (directed by Stuart Gordon) or are not familer with the H.P. Lovecraft story the film was based on. Please take a minute and go check out and add p fang over at www.myspace.com/pfangmusick , Mike is a good friend and ex-coworker from SF and his musical style is very uniuqe and combines the feel of many different generes. We use to work together at the Spy Shop on the Wharf in SF, selling lock picks, fart spray, Stun guns, and all sorts of weird novelty shit to tourists and laugh at them. But yeah, so I havent had a video up in a while so leave a comment and rate it, share it with people you think will enjoy it and subscribe to my channel!
Enjoy!
It Came From Kuchar
I received some exciting news today, I am in a documentary film that is going to be in SXSW this year. In 2005 while I was attending the San Francisco Art Institute I had the fortune of taking classes taught by the legendary filmmaker George Kuchar, and this film was made using footage from the class. The uber savoy may know about Kuchar, but most do not, wikipedia him, ill wait for ya....
He has basically inspired just about everybody, most notably John Waters who is featured in this film as well. The film is called "It Came From Kuchar", and was filmed in and around Kuchar's class at SFAI in which we were making the film "The Fury of Frau Frankenstein" (yes I have a copy, and perhaps Ill show it to you ;p) And when Jennifer Kroot, the director of this documentary, contacted me today; I was informed that I was in it quite a bit and was included in the trailer snipet used on the SXSW site. So please check out the video on this page, youll see me as my "modern dancer" character I was playing (best costume ever) as well as me off camera, ahhhh memories.
George Kuchar is truly a genious, and it makes me very happy to know this film is letting more people know about him, I have always been proud to have worked with him and learned from him, but being in this film is quite the honor. In the clip on the SXSW site, it shows me and a second later its John Waters. So yeah, im in a film with John Waters. Had to have happended at some point right?
New GoodTrip Visual Mix
Hot off the rack, this is the longest VM mix I have posted, but there is a bonus video at the end of this video! SO watch it all the way through! Its 15 min. of mind melting mayhem and your brain will thank you for it!
The source footage is all from Hellraiser and the audio is My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult (special request from Erika). If you like this mix please leave a comment on my video channel, the video or my profile, which ever, just show some love!
Attention art lovers!
I am included in this gallery show at the Alwun House here in Phoenix, that runs from Feb.13th - March 13th. The show has lots of cool stuff to check out, many erotic and exotic art pieces to stimulate your moral fiber! I have been helping to install the show as well, and am quite excited to have my work included. The opening is going to be amazing, lots of performances and music including a Bondage Puppet Show, Provocatease, someone called Pussy La Hoot, and much much more, check the flyer below.
Hope you can make it out!
"Mechanikal" - v0id
Here is the latest video i have produced for the Soviet Media Kontrol label, this one is for the song "Mechanikal" by v0id (Industrial-Hardcore from Mexico); its packed full of chaotic mayhem, surgical footage, soviet organ transplants, and of course torture and mental patients.
Enjoy!
Here is a picture of Midgardo from v0id and I at Club Sadisco's Fight Club 5 event, very cool to meet him and see him perform live.
2008 MARY XMAS RMX
In 2004, I created the infamous Mary Xmas video performance that some of you may be familiar with. This video was banned from myspace, youtube, and other video sites for its content; but can be seen on the IFC medialab site!
This video is a tribute to the original, and a re-envisioning, with a new score provided by the incredible Nathan Youngblood, it may be more unsettling then the original. You be the judge. Lets just hope with all the manipulation it does not get flagged. Please leave a comment on the video!
Enjoy! and remember:
Mary Should Have Aborted Jesus
So I just finished a video for Slayv Axis, who is on the Soviet Meida Kontrol label out of NY. I will be doing at least one more video for SMK, so stay tuned and add them as a friend here: www.myspace.com/sovietmediakontrol
I will most likely be uploading this on to my video channel here soon, but for now check it out on the SMK youtube page, and please rate and favorite the video!
This Video Below is for a track called "The Approach" by experimental recording artists Griselda Blanco, my good friends in Oakland CA.
The video features video of the Big Dog, this weird animal-machine prototype developed for military recon.

"GoodTrip Video Collection" Limited Edition 2-DVD set
So when I went on my adventure to the Midwest this fall, I brought with me 25 copies of a newly finished 2 disc DVD compilation of works I have created over my years in SF. The archive was given out to random people, friends, and even given to members of The Residents crew on their Bunny Boy US tour. I followed the band from Detroit to Chicago for 3 amazing shows; and I thought they might enjoy my videos. I also gave several out to other Residents fans I met and connected with at the show. I decided to post this video which I recorded of the cutting of the inserts for the DVD cases. This particular insert is for number 4 of 25. But the process in which i created them all was the same, hand produced signed and numbered. If your interested in my DVD compilation I may be producing a special edition of 1000 copies for purchase, and individual videos will be available on DVD soon as well. So stay tuned for that in '09. Also a special thank you to Jakob Regas for the hospitality, and use of his dirk.
